The Outdoor Ed Community is the most advanced technology for sharing and communicating online. This short How To document will help you quickly get up to speed using the Outdoor Ed Community.

Anyone can browse the forums and information on the Outdoor Ed Community. In order to post to the Forums you need to register as a user. Registration is free and your account information is strictly protected according to our Privacy Policy.

Setting Up an Account

Click the Join link at the top right.

Then you'll go to the User Account page to set up a new account. You only have to do this once. You need to add a Sign in Name and password both of which are required to log in. Enter your email address and then you must agree to the service terms.

Log In

Once you are registered you can log in by entering your Sign in name and password. If you check the "Next time automatically sign me in" box the site will remember you by placing a cooking on your machine and automatically log you in.

If you have forgotten your password, click the (I forgot my password) link and you'll be prompted for how to recover your password.

Configuring your User Profile

At any point you can edit your User Profile. Click on the Edit Profile link at the top right next to the Sign In link. (This link only appears once you have logged in). Most of the options within your User Profile are optional.

Email options are important to configure.

1. Sets your preferences for whether you want to receive email and what types of email.

• Receive Emails: If you enter Public Email address below, other users can contact you.
• Receive rich (HTML) emails: Whether or not to receive formatted email.
• Enable Email Notifications: If you want to be able to subscribe by email to either an individual posting or an entire forum you check Yes.

2. Public Contact Information

• All of these are optional. If you enter information here it will be displayed to the public. It allows people to contact you directly. If you are nervous about spam you may not want to enter any information here.

3. Private Email

• This email address is never shared on the site.
