Department Overview:

The Administrative Department consists of the positions required to run a national non-profit organization indirectly related to education, stewardship, competition, insurance and membership departments.  This department primarily deals with the bookkeeping, accounting functions, office management, member management, and human resource components of the association.   

Position Description: 

The Financial Coordinator is responsible for accurate financial data entry, accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as generating appropriate financial reports.  The Financial Coordinator must be able to maintain confidentiality and work with a high level of diligence, courtesy and attention to detail.  This position reports to the ACA Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director.

• Manage the daily financial transactions of the ACA, including but not limited to:
  • Financial related data entry
  • Accounts payable
  • Accounts receivable
  • Reconciling transactions between our database and accounting software
  • Reconciling bank financial statements
  • Produce financial reports
  • Credit card reconciliation
• Assist with annual tax returns
• Assist our independent auditors with the association’s annual audit
• Assist with other financial related tasks of the ACA
• Communicate appropriately and effectively with the general public
• Provide staff assistance at programs and events as needed
• Work related travel: 0-5%
• Other duties as assigned

College degree required

Accounting / Finance degree a plus

Experience using Quickbooks Business Management Software

Knowledge of Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions Software a plus

Possess essential computer skills including email, excel, word processing, and database management

Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 Ability to solve problems and handle issues of a complicated / complex nature

Use creativity and attention to detail while handling multiple tasks and meeting assigned deadlines

 Ability to interpret policies and guidelines (with training)

 Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds

Be able to manage all personal care and mobility independently

Must have a valid driver’s license

Enjoy working with people and contributing to a pleasant work environment

Must be a self starter and able to develop projects that further the ACA’s mission
