The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Minnesota Duluth is seeking applications for Part-time (5%-100%), temporary, one-semester positions for Instructor or Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities may include teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: Athletic Training; Nutrition; or Recreation/Outdoor Education and other teaching related duties.     Note: There are up to 5 openings for this position.

Essential academic qualification to be eligible for the Instructor position is a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Education, Athletic Training or Exercise Science, Nutrition, or Recreation/Outdoor Education related to specific teaching assignment.

Essential academic qualification to be eligible for the Assistant Professor position is a Doctorate from an accredited institution in Education, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Nutrition, or Recreation/Outdoor Education related to specific teaching assignment. (Master's/Doctorate degree must be completed by August 27, 2012).

Essential experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor position(s) include: two years of instructional experience in a professional setting pertinent to the discipline (e.g. teaching in a community based setting; teaching in a university setting or a combination of teaching experiences).  Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.  

Applicants for the Athletic Training position must be NATA certified.  Applicants for the Nutrition position must have nutrition education and experience.

Desired experience for Instructor and Assistant Professor position(s) include: three or more years teaching experience in pertinent field of study (e.g. Athletic Training or Nutrition).  Preferred documentation for the Nutrition position are credentials of registered dietitian, licensed dietitian, or licensed nutritionist/nutritionist registration or certification.

Start date is August 27, 2012.
