The Outdoor Ed Community is the online Social Networking site for outdoor professionals where you can interact colleagues and peers from around the world.
Outdoor Ed offers the best source for outdoor professionals to find careers and for employers to find great staff. We also host the largest online directory of companies and schools offering outdoor and experiential education programs and degrees. You can search for specific jobs, companies or schools.
From Wilderness First Aid courses to rock climbing certifications, this is your source for finding professional training.
The Outdoor Ed Community is where you can interact with other outdoor professionals.
The add friends feature allows you to designate particular users in your community to receive special privileges and for friends to be continually updated on each other's activity within the community.
To become friends with another member in the community, a user sends the member a friendship request. The member receives the request via email with links that give the member the option of accepting or rejecting the request. The following example shows an example of the links as they appear in an email.
When the member accepts the friendship request, the requesting member is added to the friendship list of the accepting member and the accepting member is added to the friendship list of the requesting member.
The Outdoor Ed Community then keeps friends alerted to each others' activity in the community. For example, when a user publishes a post, the activity is published in the My Friends' Activity panel of the user's friends.
Procedure
1. Open the Public Profile of the user you want to add as a friend.
2. Click Add to Friends in the user's ID panel.
An email text box opens so you can enter a request.
The Outdoor Ed Community does not require you to personalize the message. Even without a message, the user receives notification of the friendship request.
3. Click Send Request.
