GREENFIRE is an open space for queries, perpsectives, and view on the the fields of outdoor and experiential education. I am particularly interested in the "big picture"- where the field is going, where it has come from, what philosophies and educational stances guide our practice, and what challenges and opportunities we face now and in the future. The title comes from Aldo Leopold who, it is said, changed his pespective on the natural world when he gazed into the "greenfire" of the dying eyes of a wolf he had just shot.
