This time of year with our fall wilderness orientation program coming up we have to buy large quantities of Coleman Stove Fuel (aka white gas) to the 74 trips we have going out. This year it seems like we've had a lot harder time locating stove fuel and when we ask about ordering 20+ gallons we get a lot of questions from sales people about 'what do you need so much for.' After Googling for Coleman fuel I found some interesting information. Coleman fuel is often used in the production of methamphetamine which is why our quantity was causing questions. I expect some suppliers are told by local police to be on the lookout for people making large purchases.
Ifound that our local EMS store was able to get it in the quantities we needed.
