  10. This is a direct care position. The position requires working with a team of 1 to 2 other staff members designing, facilitating and implementing, the daily activities. Activities may include but are not limited to: backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, rafting, canoeing , and service projects.

    Field staff work directly with the therapist and education director to implement therapeutic interventions and monitor education. The position also requires experience and knowledge in managing an outdoor kitchen, basic gear repair and knowledge of wilderness travel and safety.

    Schedule is 8 days on 6 days off or 4 on 3 off.

    · Teaches students to comply with program and societal rules.

    · Responsible for the emotional and physical safety and wellbeing of the students.

    · Role models all soft and hard skills taught by the program.

    · Implements therapeutic milieu.

    · Responds to crisis.

    · Helps students with day to day educational and therapeutic goals.

    · Develop and facilitate activities, initiatives and ceremonies that are appropriate and meaningful.

    · Attends weekly trainings, debriefs and feedback sessions.

    · Administers medications as needed.

    · 8 days on 6 days off.

    · Teaches outdoor cooking and camping skills.

    · Teaches life skills and independent living skills.

    · Relate skills learned in the program to the outside world.

    · Participates in backpacking, mountain biking, climbing and other activities.

    • Able to create and implement therapeutic activities that are appropriate for the population

    • Experience in wilderness therapy or related field

    • Knowledge of primitive living skills

    • Experience supervising staff and students alike.

    • Must have medical training First aid and CPR minimum.

    • At least two years of college education.

    • Clean driving record.

    • Able to pass background check and drug test.
