    The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Program Coordinator in our SCA Massachusetts AmeriCorps Program based out of our Hawley Massachusetts Office.

    The Program Coordinator manages the operation and maintenance of kitchen and program facilities, including program vehicle; supervises member services and assists Program Director with administrative projects.  This includes the purchasing food and cooking meals for 20+, manages the systems, cleaning and maintenance of the base camp facility, coordinates member chores and ensures a clean and hygienic base camp, manages all program vehicles, maintains and organizes program supplies and materials, supervises member service and assists the Program Director with administrative projects.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education/Science or relevant additional coursework related to specific field or 2 or more years of related experience
    • 2 – 3 years of proven leadership experience in an outdoor setting, trail construction and/or conservation
    • Experience cooking for groups of 20+ along with the ability to cook for a variety of dietary preferences and requirements
    • Proven supervisory, organizational and program development skills
    • Experience managing budgets
    • Ability to organize and inventory large quantities of supplies
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong MSOffice skills required particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Current Advanced Wilderness First Aid or higher/CPR certification, required
    • Valid driver’s license with MVR that meets SCA standards required
    • Criminal background check that meets SCA standard required
    • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
    • Housing and some meals provided.
