  10. Whether you volunteer in developing countries, respond to disasters, practice medicine in hostile environments, work offshore, or just play far away from definitive care, you must develop a unique skill-set and a mind-set entirely different than your urban counterpart. Based on our collective experience providing ALS care in the most extreme environments in the world, the RMAP™ course was developed exclusively for experienced paramedics, nurses, and physicians.

Why choose the RMAP™ course by Remote Medical International?

The course is hands-on in a supportive atmosphere, and based on our experience and backed up by research in remote care. We use real equipment and simulators in a supportive atmosphere, backed up by the RMAP™ Promise.

By the end of the course you will:

    1. Confidently manage a patient, by yourself, for multiple hours and/or days.
    2. Conduct pre-planning, risk managements, manage legal issues, and address international travel issues.
    3. Develop a mind-set appropriate for and unique to remote and austere settings.
    4. Perform appropriate critical emergency skills, and decision-making skills unique to the remote setting.
    5. Understand which ALS medications, skills, and equipment are appropriate for remote areas.
    6. Have experienced realistic scenarios in a wilderness environment with ALS training mannequins and real equipment.
    7. Know specific injuries and illnesses common and unique to wilderness and austere environments.
