Princeton University Outdoor Action Program
The Outdoor Action Program is Princeton University’s outdoor education program. Outdoor Action is one of the oldest and best-known college outdoor programs in the country. Outdoor Action provides a wide range of outdoor education and leadership development programs for Princeton undergraduates and other members of the University community including hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and rock climbing. Each year the annual Frosh Trip wilderness orientation program, one of the largest in the country, sends out almost 800 incoming students on a six-day wilderness camping trip led by student leaders. The Outdoor Action Leader Training program has been emulated by other colleges across the country and trains up to 120 new student leaders each year in outdoor skills, wilderness first aid, and leadership and group dynamics.
