Wilderness Medical Society 2021 Virtual Summer Conference

Event Category:
Jun 27, 2021 to Jul 1, 2021

WMS conferences are ideal for medical professionals who engage in outdoor activities, counsel individuals who take part in such activities, or who practice in locations in which they are likely to encounter individuals who have been injured in such activities.

June 27 – July 1, 2021

Registration fee includes online lectures, social events, wellness activities, keynote lecture, virtual exhibit hall, syllabus, and access to recordings after the conference.

While it’s impossible for us to predict what the rest of 2021 will look like, there are a few things we know for sure: the safety of our members and their communities is of the utmost importance, wilderness medicine continues to be a growing specialty, and virtual conferences have proven to be a wildly successful way to engage and train attendees from around the world. For these reasons, we’re pleased to announce a virtual option for the WMS 2021 Summer Conference!

Here’s what past attendees have had to say about the virtual format:

  • I loved the virtual interaction – this was an amazing opportunity to still have a WMS community experience during the pandemic.
  • I am absolutely blown away by this experience. This was my first time attending and I am sincerely wowed!
  • Incredible evidence-based talks! And so many extras (links, contacts, suggestions, anecdotes, etc.) in the sidelines via the Chat option

More than just one-way lectures, the online format with its polling, Q&A, and live chat, allows you to have an on-going conversation with faculty and attendees.  The collective intelligence from being able to interact and learn from hundreds of other like-minded peers allows you to enhance your knowledge more than ever, without ever leaving your home or office. In addition to convenience, the discounted virtual option continues to be one of the most affordable ways to earn FAWM and CME credit through the WMS.

Additional highlights of the conference include more than 20 fascinating lectures, including the 14ers Wilderness Innovation Series and abstract presentations, networking, and smaller breakout workshops. See the Schedule tab for more details.
