The Wilderness Medical Society and our prestigious Nepal partner, Wongchhu Peak Promotion, invite you to join us for a once-in-a-lifetime CME adventure this fall. Join us for an unforgettable 2-week adventure CME trek in Nepal which combines cultural sightseeing excursions to temples, museums and monuments, and accommodation experiences at mountain tea lodges and tent camping.
When: October 17 – October 29. October is one of the best times to visit Nepal as it follows the monsoon season giving way to verdant landscapes, clearer skies and incredible views.
Where: Solukhumbu region of Nepal. The trek includes a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, then treks to Monjo, Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Phortse. Chopper ride to the Wongchhu Hospital site – near Chyangba, followed by treks to Bhitta Kharka via Chyangba Village and Phaplu before flying back to Kathmandu. During the trek you will enjoy amazing views of the Himalayas including the peaks of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Teboche and Everest.
Who: This trek requires participants to walk uphill for up to 4-6 hours a day and carry a light day pack including water, snacks, and an extra jacket, but heavy duffels will be portered. This trek is a CME course for medical professionals, but is also open to any non-medical outdoor enthusiasts interested in supporting a great cause.
The Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Hospital trek is a fundraising trek, the net proceeds from the trek will be donated to the hospital.
