Crew needed for living history programs!
The year is 1906, San Francisco has just experienced a devastating earthquake and fire, and the city lies in ruins. The sailing ship Balclutha (1886) will set sail tonight for lumber to rebuild, but there are no officers to lead the crew. The captain needs YOU!
We are seeking enthusiastic instructors for an innovative children's (4th-8th grade) maritime history, teambuilding and sail training program aboard historic sailing vessels. Starting in late August, our programs run primarily during the school year with additional opportunities to work over the summer.
All applicants must be responsible, creative, motivated team players with a strong interest in a waterfront environment and a love of working with children. Prior teaching and/or outdoor experiential education experience required. Sailing or related experience, performance/theater experience and an interest in San Francisco's maritime history desired. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. Must be willing to commit to a minimum of one school year.
FT & PT positions available. Eligible for medical and dental benefits. $15-20 per hour DOE with overtime wages and additional benefits available for overnight shifts.
