Job Description

Camp Chewonki consists of three separate programs: Camp Chewonki for BoysCamp Chewonki for Girls, and Camp Chewonki Wilderness Trips. Founded in 1915, Chewonki was founded on a love for ecology, wildlife, and learning about the relationship between humans and the world around us. We celebrate the power of unplugging from ordinary life and plunging into the rivers, lakes, mountains, woods, and coastline of Maine and eastern Canada, and of cultivating leadership skills, community, and self-discovery among campers and wilderness trip participants along the way.

About Camp Chewonki:

  • Southern campus: 400-acre saltwater peninsula on the coast of Maine, including separate Boys and Girls campuses
  • Northern campus: private lake within remote conservation area
  • Multiple private islands off the coast of Maine and network of north woods campsites
  • A working farm where campers can help grow our food and help care for animals
  • An 18-element challenge course – with low & high ropes
  • Activities: Canoeing, Whitewater & Sea Kayaking, Backpacking, Wildlife & Ecology, Farm & Food Systems, Outdoor Living Skills, Woodworking, Visual Arts, Sailing, Archery, Performing Arts, and Sports & Recreation
