Job Description

Do you have a passion for the outdoors and sharing them with others? If so this may be the job for you! Must be organized, highly motivated, at least 21 years old.

  • are able to learn and demonstrate the principles of Leave No Trace as they apply to our Adirondack based camp.
  • are a good critical and fair thinker.
  • are able to make safe and timely decisions.
  • can manage the needs of instructors and customers at multiple climbing areas simultaneously.

As the Climbing Director the main responsibilities include, supervising staff,  facilitating and maintaining a safe and fun learning environment,  equipment checks and maintenance,  some paperwork throughout the summer as well as opening and closing reports.   Overseeing and facilitating a 60 foot climbing tower, 40 foot outdoor climbing rock site, and numerous off campus climbing trips around the Adirondack Park in the beautiful northeast of New York State.

Wilderness First Aid and CPR recommended, but not required. National Climbing School Training or equivalent also required. Training available for these certifications if needed. Salary adjustments based on experience and current certifications.

Availability would be from June 10th- August 18th.
