Director of Training

Job Description

Responsibilities: 

Direct and manage all aspects of challenge course training provided by Signature Research Inc. and Northwest Teambuilding. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand current industry standards, including ACCT and ASTM requirements for training personnel in the Challenge Course Industry, both private and commercial.
  • Recruit, interview and evaluate candidates for training positions 
  • Review all training evaluation forms.
  • Schedule trainings to fit within the parameters of current labor laws.
  • Supervise training staff, including training assistant, full-time trainers and all part time contract trainers.
  • Supervise, coach, council, discipline, observe and evaluate all fulltime and contract trainers.
  • Schedule, plan, and lead annual trainer retreat.
  • Review and assess training evaluations from each training.
  • Conduct trainings when required and conduct challenge course manager (CCM) trainings.
  • Direct and supervise the creation training manuals and modules and revisions and corrections of current training manuals and modules in keeping with current company policy and industry standards.
  • Ensure training manuals and modules 
  • Create and modify test questions certification written tests, practical test, written and practical ANSI/ACCT and non-ANSI/ACCT certification testing
  • Supervise the scheduling of open enrollment trainings, the creation all documentation required for open enrollment trainings.
  • Interact with clients on training needs, complaints and problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor degree required. 
  • Must have 3,000 hours of challenge course facilitation, 1,000 hours of challenge course training delivered, and 1,000 hours of challenge course management and supervision of staff.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all challenge course equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach challenge course rescues at height.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach operational aspects of all challenge course elements.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of current industry standards.
  • Must have good communication skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree required, master degree preferred.Must have 5,000 hours of challenge course facilitation, 3,000 hours of challenge course training delivered, and 2,000 hours of challenge course management.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all challenge course equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach challenge course rescues at height.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach operational aspects of all challenge course elements.
  • Must have basic challenge course inspection knowledge.
  • Have knowledge of current industry standards.
  • Must have good communication skills.
