Field Director

Job Description

The Field Director oversees the risk management of all field operations and manages the Field Department, including two assistant Field Directors and all Field Instructors. He/She schedules, evaluates, supports, and supervises assistant field directors and field instructors.  He/she also develops and implements program philosophies. The Field Director’s responsibilities also include program development, providing continual training for Instructors and implementing program policies and procedures.  The Field Director visits the field once or twice a week and prepares reports of each visit to ensure compliance with standards. He/she provides on call support one week per month and emergency response support.

The Field Director is at least 25 years of age, has a BA or BS degree or equal training and experience in a related field, has a minimum of two years of outdoor program management/administrative experience, and a minimum of three years of field experience.  He/she is trained and certified annually in CPR and WFR.
