Fishing Camp Educator (Berkeley) - Instructor and Guide

Do you want to help mentor the next generation of kids to grow into adults who fish and believe in conservation for our waterways? Trackers Earth, the East Bay's foremost wilderness skills school, seeks summer camp educators excited to lead youth on fishing adventures. We need experienced, flexible, and dedicated individuals to introduce students to Mariner's way.

We want guides who are excited to foster a deep appreciation for the water, knowledge of when and where to find fish in our local waterways, respect fish and game regulations, and even explore primitive fishing techniques.

Skills could include but not be limited to the following...

  • Experience teaching children
  • The patience to help several six-year-olds untangle their lines
  • Substantial experience on the water fishing: both personal or professional
  • Ability to teach kids where to find fish and how to responsibly catch them in our local waters
  • Knowledge of primitive fishing techniques and regulations including fish weirs, natural hooks, nets, spear fishing
  • Knowledge of fly casting and fly tying techniques
  • Naturalist knowledge plants, birds, tracking, entomology
