Program Guide - Now Hiring
Pacific Quest offers a unique approach to wilderness therapy by replacing hiking and survival skills with work on our organic farm and sustainable life skills. Our approach is based on structure, support and choice as opposed to coercion or punitive consequences; it allows for students to grow individually, at their own pace, with their own motivations.
The mission of Pacific Quest is to provide individualized, sustainable, personal development within a safe, structured, experiential and natural environment in a culture of unconditional support and personal responsibility.
Pacific Quest facilitates an environment for teens and young adults to recognize a desire for change. In addition to working with a counseling and treatment team to achieve weekly outcomes, a typical day consists of working the land, role modeling, teaching and helping facilitate learning about permaculture, sustainability, basic living skills and Hawaiian life. The students go on day-outings once a week. The staff team consists of 3 Program Guides: 1-2 Leads, a Wellness Guide, a Support Instructor and/or an Apprentice. Each staff member will work eight-days on, six-days off from Thursday to Thursday. Compensation includes an hourly wage as well as room and board for our adolescent program during the working period (on your week off, accommodations are not provided). We desire individuals with degrees in psychology, farming or outdoor education. If you can make a one-year commitment and have experience and enthusiasm for working with teens in an outdoor therapeutic setting, apply with us!
