Team Teacher Naturalist for Summer 2017

Job Description

PUDDLESTOMPERS Nature Exploration's mission is to connect the youngest naturalists, ages 2 to 8 (and their parents and caregivers) to the open spaces in their communities. PUDDLESTOMPERS Nature Exploration is located in Newton, MA and serves the Greater Boston area.

Lead children in outdoor exploration with hands-on investigation, active movement and play, songs, games, stories and projects. Provide support to the Lead Teacher naturalist and teach a group of 6-8 year olds on your own. This is a part-time position from 8:30am-1:00pm daily, with opportunities for extended day from 1:00-3:00pm. Compensation is $13/hour. 

This position requires a weekly commitment starting in June and ending in August. Our Summer 2017 camp season is June 5th - September 1st. There is potential for teaching opportunities during our February Vacation program (February 21st - 24th) and our April Vacation program (April 18th - 21st).

-Prior teaching experience with 2-5 year olds and/or K-2nd graders 
-Experience in outdoor education and/or degree in the natural sciences a plus 
-Dependable, responsible and organized 
-Fun-loving, creative and engaging
