Come join our team and be a Trip Leader at Camp Alice Chester which is a 333 acre camp nestled in the woods with frontage on two lakes in East Troy, WI.  Camp Alice Chester provides a week-long resident camp to girls entering grades two through high school a natural outdoor experience in which to build their leadership skills. Staff sleep in small bunk houses, 4-person cabins or airy 6-person platform tents. Most cabins and tents do not have electricity.  Located a short distance from Milwaukee on days off staff have access to multiple summer festivals, shopping, museums, restaurants and more.   

Position Summary:  Accompany, supervise, and lead campers on a variety of adventure trips throughout Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan Including Pictured Rock, Sylvania Wilderness and Devils Lake. Trips may include primitive camping, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing; that may be located on and off camp property while providing 24-hour supervision of 4-12 girls in grades 4-12. Organize and implement program activities and uphold all camp policies, procedures, and safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers. Exhibit good role model behavior with campers and other staff.  

Seasonal position starting June 1, 2020 and ending August 16, 2020. Weekly salary of $350 plus room and board. Days off: July 1-5, and most Saturdays.

Major Accountabilities:        

·          Maintain an organized and clean facility, equipment, and supplies; report needed repairs. 

·          Create a positive rapport with all campers (and their parents) in your group, helping her to learn to respect and understand herself and others. 

·          Guide and create a weekly schedule through girl/counselor planning.  

·          Lead activities for large or small groups that include but not limited to fishing, hiking, fire building and cooking, crafts, physical games, songs, nature, boating etc.  

·          Be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of campers both in camp and off-site on field trips. 

·          Lead adventure trips both on and away from camp that include but are not limited to: Hiking/Backpacking, Camping, Rock Climbing, Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Caving  

(Some trips have Outfitter Guides that will be provided in some program areas)
