Trip Logistics Coordinator (Food Room)
- Must be 21 years of age or older by June 1, 2018
- Minimum Wilderness First Aid and CPR or willingness to get one. Must be valid July 1st, 2018 through August 24th, 2018. An actual, signed certification must be presented to Adventure Director prior to July 1st, 2018
- ServeSafe Certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Experience supervising staff leading overnight, outdoor programming
- Able to hike 8-10 miles in rugged, uneven terrain per day with a pack weight one third of one body weight.
- Strong Sense of risk management practices and excellent decision making
The Adventure Trip Logistics Coordinator collaboratively supervises the Adventure Trips program and assists with the departure, return and safety of all off-site overnight trips. This position is in charge of managing assigned trip leaders and food room assistant as well as ensuring the quality of the program and completing logistical components required in the program. Mentoring trip leaders in their day-to-day jobs as staff encounter difficult or unique situations and regular staff and camper check-ins are essentials parts of the job. Staff and camper problems and successes will filter through the Trip Logistics Coordinator to the Adventure Director. The Trip Logistics Coordinator keeps the director informed of all pertinent issues and successes related to the program, and communicate with parents as needed. The Trip Logistics Coordinator aids and assists the department in times of emergency, crisis and evacuations. The Trips Logistic Coordinator will brief their assigned trips before they leave, be responsible for being available to receive communication from trips that are off site, and debrief their trips when they return. This position also directly oversees the food room. They are responsible for creating a successful pack out system for overnight trips, ordering appropriate food when needed, packing food for overnight trips, and keeping everything in a neat and orderly condition.

- Supervise and evaluate Adventure Trip Leaders, including, but not limited to, maintaining staff morale and conducting one-on-one meetings with each staff member each session
- Conduct trip briefings and debriefs for assigned off-site trips
- Develop and maintain a positive culture within the program
- Be an active member of a small community, including, but not limited to, giving your opinion in an appropriate manner, taking on delegated responsibilities and helping to maintain the physical, emotional and mental health of each team member
- Maintain a friendly, cooperative, and professional relationship with your co-workers, director and any other staff members or outfitters
- Complete and submit all required documentation including, but not limited to, daily logs, accident reports, vehicle logs, etc. in a timely manner
- Assist in overseeing mini-trip pack outs and logistics
- Oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of off-site overnight trips. This includes ensuring campers are learning specific hard and soft skills needed for each trip, supervising staff in implementation and preparation for trips, and processing trips with campers and staff at the conclusion of the experience.
- Respond to emergencies, crisis and evacuations, regardless of the time of day or night, including, but not limited to visiting trip sites up to 12 hours away on short notice
- Works closely with Adventure Director to ensure risk management practices and procedures are adequate and being followed in all cases
- Assists and leads training sessions throughout the summer
