Adventure Treks operates 13 to 30-day wilderness-based programs for teenagers in Alaska, British Columbia, California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Wyoming. Our activities include backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and canoeing. The adventures are designed to foster community, build confidence, and teach leadership.
Instructors are in charge of leading the activities and managing group dynamics, as well as coordinating logistics. Benefits include a competitive salary, a travel stipend, access to pro-purchase discounts, and the opportunity to work both summer and fall school group programs.
Applicants must be 21 years of age (college graduate or degree in progress preferred), have a valid WFR & CPR (or be willing to acquire one), several years experience working with youth and leading outdoor programs, and be willing to work long hours with little to no time off.
If you feel you meet our qualifications, please email a cover letter and a copy of your resume to our Staffing Director, Joe, at [email protected], and we will email you our application. Once we receive your completed application, we can begin our interview process. The interview process includes three interviews to ensure we are a good match for each other. We will also check your references and perform a background check. This hiring process is time-intensive, but we have found it to be the best way to create incredible six-person instructor teams. We will be accepting applications until May 31st, 2017.
