WMTC Wilderness Medicine Instructor
The Wilderness Medicine Training Center International (WMTC) is well known for excellence in course design and delivery, and WMTC certifications are recognized nationally by outdoor programs, professional guiding services and state and federal guide licensing agencies. The foundation to our wilderness medicine courses is our curriculum and the caliber of our instructors. We have some of the best instructors in the world, and our courses wouldn't be what they are without them.
We are looking to add to our all-star team, with applications to the 2018 Instructor Training Course now being accepted. If you are a graduate of a WMTC wilderness medicine course, have professional trip leading experience or extensive personal outdoor expedition experience, have demonstrated advanced skill in at least one outdoor skill discipline, and have classroom or experiential teaching experience, then you may be what we're looking for.
To be considered, all candidates must submit the WMTC Instructor Application, and if accepted, successfully complete our 18-day Instructor Training Course. In order to become a lead instructor, candidates must maintain a current EMT-B certification in their state of residence as well as a Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness EMT certification. Strong preference is given to graduates of a WMTC Wilderness First Responder course. Licensed nurses, physicians and veterinarians with emergency room training/experience exceed our minimum requirements and are encouraged to apply.
More information can be found in the WMTC Instructor Application. We look forward to hearing from you!
To apply, complete the online Instructor Application. The application and any supporting materials must be submitted by April 1, 2018 in order to be considered for acceptance into the Instructor Training Course held in September. Contact Paul Nicolazzo with any questions.
