Kit DesLauriers is the first person to have skied off the top of the 7 Summits, has made several first ski descents of the highest peaks in the Brooks Range of Alaska, holds two consecutive World Freeskiing Women’s Champion titles, was named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2015 for her merging of science and adventure in the US Arctic…and the list of her accomplishments goes on!
During her keynote address at the 2019 Wilderness Risk Management Conference this fall, Kit will share her unique perspective on managing risk. She will tell the story of what led her to turn around from an 8000-meter peak attempt due to her self-diagnosed HACE, what it was like to be the first woman to solo climb/ski the Grand Teton, and how she approached skiing Mt. Everest. Kit will also offer insight into life as a professional adventurer and a mother who is now watching her two young daughters approach challenges in the mountains.
Join us for Kit's keynote address and much more at the Wilderness Risk Management Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, October 30 - November 1, 2019!
