Wilderness First Responder

Training Description

This standard, 9-day Wilderness First Responder course offers in-depth instruction in wilderness medicine. An industry standard for outdoor professionals, the course is also recommended for those who participate in high-risk outdoor activities to gain valuable skill in handling medical emergencies in the backcountry. All course lecture, skill labs and simulation exercises take place at the Western Washington University Lakewood facility near Lake Whatcom in Bellingham, WA.

This course offers the option of upgrading to a Wilderness EMT (WEMT) certification through an online WEMT module (additional $25 testing fee applies; current EMT status required).
