Position Overview:
This position is responsible for providing program coordination and management for the Ranch Program at Camp Namanu, in addition to planning, facilitating, and supporting camp from pre-camp training through the cessation of the camping session in coordination with the management team. This role does not require horse care knowledge.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises the Head Riding Instructor, 2-3 ranch counselors and ranch kitchen staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities may include interviewing and hiring as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to assemble reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
Job requires some specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, word processing, communication by e-mail and using scheduling software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to assess problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and seek supervisory support when necessary. Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions. Ability to manage several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
This position requires a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card, First Aid & CPR certification and completion of Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse online training.

Physical Demands:

The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to traverse varied terrain over the 60 acres of main camp, be stationary for prolonged periods, gather supplies from various heights and locations, and at times support with horse exercise or leading. In compliance with covid-19 protocols, employees are asked to wear a face mask when not actively consuming food/beverage.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions 95% of the time. The employee may be occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional periods of excessive noise (i.e. meal times, talent show).
