Join us for an OUTSTANDING summer as one of our Day Camper Counselors. Day Camp Counselors aid in the daily operations of the day camper program. This position assists the Day Camp Division Director as a caregiver for day students during their out-of-classroom time while on campus. The Day Camp Counselors provide structure and a staff connection for our day campers and their families and is responsible for the safety of students in their care. The Day Camp Counselor provides staff coverage at drop off and pick up times as well as lunch and rest hour supervision.
DATES and SALARY:
Sunday, June 21 2020 through Monday, August 10, 2020
Stipend is $1350, room and board if desired and available. Living on campus is NOT required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
Daily duties will be both inside and outside regardless of weather
Ability to function effectively and work cooperatively with peers and institution leadership
Developed skills in self-care (adequate sleep, activity, nutrition, mental acuity, managing emotions)
Commitment to self-advocacy and seeking assistance from others when facing difficulty
Physical and emotional stamina – ability to assist with preparation, cleaning and maintenance of camp division facilities and spaces.
A commitment to inclusion and acceptance of others
Ability to think on your feet, comfortably manage emergent situations
Creative thinking related to student interactions and development of student activities
Ability to function effectively and work cooperatively with peers and divisional leadership
