Pinelands Adventures, the leader in Pine Barren’s ecotourism, is seeking a full-time, seasonal outdoor environmental educator with knowledge of (or interest in and aptitude to learn) detailed Pine Barrens ecological and historical information.

Position Summary: 

Working with the Director of Education, Outdoor Environmental Educators teach and lead classes and trips, communicate with group leaders, transport groups and the public, and assist in any projects or tasks that improve the program.

Requirements:

• A positive attitude and adventurous spirit
• Educational background in environmental studies, biology, education, science, similar area of study or demonstrated knowledge and experience
• Previous professional experience working with youth and adults in an outdoor setting
• Demonstrated leadership, group facilitation, time management and risk management on water and land outings
• Lead and implement curriculum and activities independently and with other instructors
• Help plan and develop new curriculum and activities
• Competent kayak & canoe paddling ability, ACA certified instructor a plus
• Experienced hiker & backpacker, capable of leading groups of up to sixteen
• Be physically fit to perform the duties of an outdoor guide and driver
• The ability to load and unload boats, which weigh up to 80 pounds, onto and off of trailers
• A valid driver’s license without any points or moving violations for at least 3 years
• Experience driving a vehicle with a trailer a plus
• Participate in education and first aid training.
  • We offer Wilderness and Remote First Aid and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED training.

$15 per hour. Full-time, seasonal: April through October. Weekends required.
