Compensation – Starting rate for California locations is 22.50/hour. Your hourly rate may be more based on your experience and/or certifications. Check out our compensation page for more details.
We are hiring Summer Day Camp Instructors for the following Bay Area locations:
Oakland (only hiring drivers)
Cupertino/San Jose
Burlingame (only hiring drivers)
Mill Valley (only hiring drivers)
Menlo Park (only hiring drivers)
**Our non-driving Camp Instructor positions at our Oakland, Burlingame, Menlo Park, and Mill Valley locations have been filled. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the start of camp in order to drive Avid4 Adventure vehicles and campers. Non-qualifying candidates may still apply and are highly encouraged to consider Day Camp Instructor positions available at other camp locations**
In this role you will
Co-lead an activity group of up to 13 campers through outdoor activities including: mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles.
Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals.
Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities.
Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants.
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.
Job Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp
Staff must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to drive camp vehicles, equipment, and campers. Drivers receive a 2% pay increase.
+1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred
Must enjoy spending time with kids and having fun!
Minimum of Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done)
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, about 40 hours/week
Mandatory training begins May 27. Programs begin June 12 and run through August 4.
