Job Description

Come teach sailing on a beautiful Maine lake in Denmark, Maine! Wyonegonic is the oldest residential camp for girls in our country. Wyonegonic counselors live with campers in lakefront cabins in our beautiful Maine wilderness setting. They contribute to the happiness and confidence of campers as they act as positive role models, supervise, teach and encourage. Counselors also instruct in at least one activity area in our non-competitive program. Activities include High Ropes, Climbing Wall, Sailing, Outdoor Living Skills, Canoe, SUP, Swimming, Archery, Riflery, Windsurfing, Creative Arts, Horseback Riding etc. Wyonegonic also hires non-cabin staff who are usually activity instructors, supervisors or trip leaders, belonging to a unit and partaking in all special events, evening programs and unit activities. The teamwork and flexibility of all staff working together are what makes each summer a success.

Wyonegonic Camps provides and covers the cost for all necessary certifications and training. Training for sail staff includes American Red Cross Lifeguard Training as well as Sailing and Power Boat training all provided at camp in June.
