Creating an Effective Post

Use a Summary

When you are entering content, you’ll see a link called Excerpt on the right sidebar. We always recommend that you enter a short summary paragraph about your post. When we display content on summary pages, we will pull this Excerpt if you’ve entered one, otherwise we will pull the first 300 characters of your main text. In many cases like Articles and Job postings, that first paragraph of your full post might not be a good descriptor of what you want the reader to see on a Summary page. Controlling your Excerpt is a great way to ensure that the user clicks on the Read More link to see your full post.
