Ski touring speed record on Dhaulagiri 7 summit under 8 hours

Take a look behind the scenes of the speed record set by speed mountaineer and DYNAFIT General Manager Benedikt Böhm in October 2019: Dhaulagiri 7 summit (7,246 metres) in 7 hours and 53 minutes. Dhaulagiri 7 is a special ski touring challenge because of its extended ascent and the region’s remoteness. To reach the base camp of Dhaulagiri also known as Putcha Hiunchuli requires a lot of trekking in and getting acclimated to the high altitude. When trying to set this new speed record Beni started at the basecamp at 4,930 meters climbing up via the northwest flank, pushing himself to the 7,246-meter-high summit and then returning back to basecamp. All of it under 8 hours! Going up he took all the energy from base camp but skiing down exhausted and at his limits was the challenging part for him at this expedition. Nevertheless, Beni accomplished his goal in true #speedup style.
