65 miles of your favorite paddlers favorite whitewater. This canyon is known as “ the mt Everest of whitewater”, and lives up to the name. While it may not be considered that by the top paddlers these days, it is still a giant milestone in many paddlers lives. Boils, waves, holes, whirlpools bigger than you’ve ever seen or felt before in here. 1000 ft walls and an upwards of 15k+ cfs running through this gorged out masterpiece. Goats line the canyon walls watching over us as we dive into some of the most challenging North American whitewater. I thought id be way more scared in there, but it really felt nice to just have fun with it and feel totally capable. We put on at 400 cumecs and it ended up rising to 600 cumecs by the time we got off the water. This was daunting at first when we heard the news, but the crew operated strongly and efficiently to get the job done. This is one of the best things I have ever done in my life, and no doubt the most powerful whitewater I have ever felt. Driving 20 hours north after a flight to Vancouver for one lap sounds wild, but when you see and feel what I did, you would understand too. Cheers everyone, I hope you enjoy.
