Accept Inc. is a Cape Cod based non-profit with corporate offices in Chatham and a Board of Directors made up of residents of Cape Cod. Sixteen years ago the corporation was established “to provide residential services, evaluation services, clinical services, and behavior modification training to youths involved with The Department of Youth Services and to provide an efficient vehicle from which to provide needed services to the adolescent population of The Commonwealth.” Our experience in delivering programs to The Department is extensive. Accept Inc. has operated the Leap program in Brewster for sixteen years. It has managed the growth of that program from a seven-bed personnel-secure program to an eighteen-bed residential program. The growth included site development and acquisition of buildings for the program and the integration of the new buildings into the existing infrastructure of the Homeward Bound site. In 1987, Accept Inc. was awarded a support contract to provide services to The Homeward Bound Wilderness Program in Brewster. That contract now covers sixteen direct-care workers, a nurse, teachers, a food service worker, a maintenance worker, and four security workers.
In 1995, Accept Inc. was awarded a support contract to assist The Department in the establishment of a detention center at the Howland Building on the grounds of Taunton State Hospital. Working with the Department’s on-site administrators, Accept Inc. participated in developing the counseling, education, food service, direct care, transportation and maintenance components of that start-up program. In 1998, counseling and food service at the new Goss Secure Treatment Program was added to the Howland Support Contract. Those services at both programs continue to be delivered by Accept Inc. Accept Inc. offers its 83 employees competitive salaries, Tufts Medical Health Plan, Delta Dental INsurance, 403B Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan and a tuition re-embursement plan.
