Anderson Camps is located at the confluence of Sweetwater Creek into the Colorado River and surrounded by White River National Forest and the Flattops Wilderness area. As our own outfitter, we run all our own trips through our highly trained and qualified staff. Counselors are with kids that range from 7-15 in our main camp and 13-17 in our Wilderness Pioneer Camp. The demanding summer begins May 10 and ends August 14 which includes nearly a month long staff training program for our counselors, followed by a short 8 day session, 1 two week session and 2 three week sessions. Extended sessions for main camp are 60% in camp and 40% out of camp including an extended trip and cabin campouts, while in our Wilderness Program, trips are based primarily out of camp. Activities and trips include rafting, horseback riding, caving, fishing, mountain bike riding, mountain climbing, and many others.
