The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation

Updated: November 30, 2005

The Bob Marshall Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving the trail system in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex while promoting wilderness values through education.
The Bob Marshall Foundation (BMF) has developed an effective volunteer program that works with a variety of organizations in a collaborative effort to maintain trails, restore campsites, and eradicate noxious weeds in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex and adjacent wild lands. Each year the BMF coordinates over 40 projects with national and local volunteer groups, local youth-at-risk organizations, bible camps, schools, and community organizations to maintain an average of 350 miles of trail and participate on noxious weed and campsite restoration projects. One of our primary objectives is to provide an opportunity for volunteers, especially youth, to develop team building skills, learn new skills including Leave No Trace principles, and develop a wilderness ethic while participating on volunteer projects
