Buffalo Cove Outdoor Education Center

Updated: January 6, 2017

A nonprofit organization dedicated to meaningful experiences with the earth and community that weave a web of self confidence and positive interaction. We teach through fun and unique outdoor living experiences that promote meaningful encounters leading to discovery and self-awareness, as well as connection to friends and the land around you.

Our kitchen serves home cooked, healthy, family style meals created from mostly organic and local foods, including our own gardens. We focus on complete nourishment of the body, mind and spirit. Our camper to staff ratio of 3:1 – combined with the experience, training and dedication of our wonderful staff – ensures the highest quality instruction, attention and safety.

Buffalo Cove offers custome designed programming to a broad range of clients.  From inner city youth at risk to rural teens and Kindergartners to Senior Citizens.  The majority of our programming is from April to October for 8-17 year olds.

We offer Experiential Education in the lessons of the Southern Appalachian Mountains including, but not limited to: traditional earth skills, wilderness survival, campcraft, woodslore, woodworking, archery, backpacking, low impact camping and river canoeing.
