Camp Birch Trails provides girls with opportunities to develop independence, confidence and leadership skills, to nurture positive values such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Girls build lifelong skills at camp, while making new friends and special memories.
Camp Birch Trails (CBT) is located just north of Merrill, WI. The camp is made up of 360 acres of private land with a lake in the center of the property. The lake offers a beach for swimming and great opportunities for girls to learn and perfect their boating skills.
All of the programs at CBT involve girl planning to determine what will happen during their stay. Swimming, boating, arts and crafts, games, nature, fishing, singing, cook-outs, overnights, and orienteering are some of the activities girls may choose to do with their patrol. All girls participate in an opening and closing campfire when staff and campers perform songs and skits. Each day includes two hours of ‘Me-Time,’ when girls can individually choose activities.
Our trips are a tradition in excellence! For years, campers have been discovering what the wilderness has to offer through our challenging and progressive trip program. CBT trips are a wonderful way to experience the outdoors, learn camping skills, make lifelong friends, and challenge yourself. It is recommended that campers start with shorter trips and proceed to the longer, more rugged trips. However, we pride ourselves on being able to offer girls of all ages trip options, regardless of past experience.
Staff certified in first aid, CPR and Lifeguard Training lead all trips. All trips have staff with Wilderness First Aid. In addition, trip leaders receive several days of intensive trip training at the beginning of the summer. All specialized and group gear is provided. Campers need to provide clothing, footwear, rain gear, and sleeping bag. A detailed list will be sent with the confirmation materials.
