Togowoods is located in the Matanuska Valley about 50 miles north of Anchorage. Uniquely
Alaskan with traditional log-constructed buildings, this rustic facility includes a main dining lodge, health center, 1 large and 2 small activity lodges and a sauna. Togowoods is
situated on a small private lake that lends itself to aquatic fun and frequent sightings of the local loons, eagles, moose and bear. Staff work in partnership with one – three other people providing fun, safe, quality programs for girls.
Campers are organized into groups of 8-12 by age (6-16 years old). Campers and staff live in units
made up of a cluster of platform tents. Each unit has a small activity lodge, latrines, and water spigot.
At Togowoods, we strive to create an environment in which girls will be inspired to stretch their limits and fulfill their dreams. By building relationships and living as part of a community, girls will have opportunities to learn new skills, share their own talents, build confidence and gain a better understanding of the natural world. Through activities such as hiking, pottery, painting, drama, canoeing, kayaking,
primitive camping skills and gardening, Camp Togowoods promotes stewardship for the earth and respect for self and others.
We hire staff who are passionately committed to the personal growth and achievement of all girls. We are a small, international group of people who believe that by genuinely building relationships and seeking to connect with girls we can empower them to reach their fullest potential to be caring, contributing members of our society.
