The CEF owns and oversees two camps that are dedicated to providing adventure, fun, challenges, and self-learning through a tripping program for young men and women in a wilderness setting stretching from the Hudson Bay to the Grand Tetons. The Foundation, with an endowment including both a shore base and a 600-acre Rainy Lake island on the Minnesota-Canadian border, oversees camps steeped in traditions of the great North Woods and Native American culture yet evolving in a dynamic market. From 1924 when Camp Kooch-i-ching for boys was established, to the opening of Ogichi Daa Kwe for girls in 2004, to the present, we have expanded our mission, our offering, and our financial base to support growth and new directions.
Our camps have successfully retained the activities and rituals from their founding days while enhancing their scope.
