The intent and purpose of Carrabassett Valley Academy is to foster focused individual student-athlete development by providing the optimum balance between outstanding college preparatory academics, responsible community living and world-class athletic training in competitive skiing and snowboarding. The Alpine Leadership Pursuits for Skiers and Snowboarders (ALPS) program gives teenagers the skills and experience needed to excel on the toughest of mountains. Students obtain a wide range of skills that reach far beyond the realm of athletics. ALPS participants gain experience and certifications in wilderness medicine, snow science, orienteering, and survival.
