The Charlotte Outdoor Adventure Center, Inc. is an organizational development and consulting company specializing in providing Action-Learning programs to corporations and organizations throughout the country.
“Learning by Doing” is a hallmark of all that we offer. Our programs develop leadership and team skills, facilitate communication, enhance trust, build confidence and self-esteem, improve productivity and assist in the development of plans and strategies to manage change.
Since 1976, our home base has been located in Charlotte, NC. We have conducted teambuilding, leadership and culture change programs for companies since 1980, serving over 120,000 participants nationwide. We have successfully conducted programs for teams as small as 5-6 and as large as 250+ people.
Assessment- Individual, group and organization-wide assessments pertaining to training needs, culture change, personality, leadership, team, conflict and communication styles.
Education- Highly interactive programs on a variety of timely issues in the workplace: culture change, personality, leadership and communication styles, diversity, team effectiveness, creative conflict reolution and managing workplace expectations. We are licenced and certified to distribute many fine Inscape Publishing products such as the DiSC and certified practitioners of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and other Consulting Pscychologist Press products.
Intervention- Teams need opportunities to “retreat” from their everyday worklife together to re-generate and re-focus. Teambuilding programs use indoor and outdoor activities in a well designed and sequenced flow, based on a needs-assessment process conducted upfront by one of our master-degree level facilitators. Activities may range from tabletop exercises and discussion group settings to traditional action-learning teambuilding activities such as group initiatives and challenge courses, or may be more outdoorsy, such as orienteering, boatbuilding, whitewater rafting or rock climbing.
Redirection- A number of client organizations have used our consistent expertise and quality programs to assist in rolling out company-wide change initiatives. These initiatives may include any number of the above mentioned activities, presented over time to workgroups and departments by a dedicated group of COAC, Inc. facilitators to assure being on message.
Recreation- Not every outing needs to be “serious”. Whether it’s a Team Olympics on the beach or more of a “fun” rock climbing, rafting or hiking wilderness trip, the COAC, Inc. can customize a recreation experience that delivers fun, excitment and renewed enthusiasm to client’s teams.
