Corporate Challenge, Inc. – SouthWest Center for Experiential Learning

Updated: June 27, 2001

Corporate Challenge has been developing teams, team leaders, and team members using experiential methods since 1985. Training occurs at work sites, convention centers, retreat settings, and more exotic locations. Programs are designed using indoor/outdoor mobile initiatives, backpacking, ropes/challenge courses, rock climbing, mountaineering, rescue scenarios using caves, rock-climbing sites, or high rise building, water based challenges using sailing, raft building, boat races, or white water challenges, scavenger hunts on your site or city based, navigation activities by means of walking, bicycles, or motorized vehicles, golf initiative, Tyrolean traverses and the urban zip line

Management development programs are customized to accommodate age and physical needs. Regardless of sites or activity chosen there are no limitations on where learning can happen and participants are guided in transferring skills learned to work situations.

Southwest Center for Experiential Learning (A division of Corporate Challenge) specializes in the planning, design, construction, and safety/maintenance of top quality ropes/challenge courses since 1989. We have strived to be an efficient, experienced, comprehensive, company; that delivers customized and personalized adventure education services and responds to your needs with quick personal attention. We want to build programs rather than simply building you a ropes/challenge course.

We are a member of Association of Challenge Course Technology and a board member of the Professional Ropes Course Association.

We can build to specific ropes course designs or custom ropes course designs, eco trees courses for bird watching, eco zip lines for tourists resorts, and tree houses. The customized design is according to the type of programming desired and the site utilized. We offer equipment sales, training for ropes course, and other adventure based activities.

We realized that our ability to custom design and build a ropes/challenge course was effectively based upon our expertise as practitioners as well as builders. Our philosophy and approach to adventure-based programming and the practice of building ropes/challenge courses and training, came, after we had spent many years working as direct staff in non-profit, school-based, psychiatric, community mental health, Outward Bound type, university and camp programs. Those experiences were valuable because of the different programming and budget options we could offer to our clients.

We believe in what we do, we like what we do, we try to deliver the best quality products we can, we believe this is a practice and not a trade, and it’s an ethically driven profession. We believe it is important for our clients to get to know us, feel comfortable with us, and establish a long-term rela-tionship.

Please call or e-mail me if you have any questions or if I can be of some service to your organization.
