Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences is a progressive K-12 independent private school in Santa Monica, CA. The school was built upon five basic commitments: to academic excellence; to the arts; to the greater community; to the development of a student population of social, economic, and racial diversity; and to the development of each student’s physical well-being and full human potential. Within the school, the Environmental Outdoor Education (EOE) program encourages students to appreciate the natural world, take responsibility for their actions, act respectfully toward the environments they visit and the people they travel with, interact cooperatively with others, and develop initiative in making environmentally responsible decisions. Our programs for grades 4 through 12 range from day trips to ten-day expeditions, all with common curricular themes of human development, outdoor science, and technical skills.
