Eastern Washington University, with an enrollment of approximately 9,000 students, is located in Cheney and Spokane, Washington. The area is the heart of the Inland Northwest, with excellent skiing, hiking, restaurants, theater, shopping, a choice of living in a medium-sized city or a small town, and high quality schools and housing.
The EWU Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation faculty members bring to the graduate and undergraduate programs depth of knowledge and experience in teaching, research, and service. The department’s programs are designed to prepare students to complete degrees in Athletic Training, Community Health, Exercise Science, Health and Fitness, Outdoor Recreation, Recreation Management, and Therapeutic Recreation. Faculty have full access to Eastern’s facilities, including an Olympic-size pool, indoor and outdoor tracks, a dance studio, weight/strength conditioning room, athletic training rooms, a circuit training fitness center, a 5200 seat pavilion, new tennis courts and a newly designed human performance lab. Great outdoor recreational opportunities abound in the nearby lakes, white waters, forests and mountains.
