House In The Wood offers day trips and 2-4 day residential programs for grades 3-12. Students and teachers live and study on a beautiful wooded campus on a Wisconsin lake shore. Our innovative curriculum can be customized to meet your specific needs. Inquiry based learning and hands-on activities keep students excited and involved. All of our classes are based on national standards. They emphasize team building activities, social/emotional learning and practical life skills.
The programming at the heart of House In The Wood’s mission is Summer Camp for Chicago youth. Campers stay at House In The Wood for sessions lasting one or two weeks. They live in cabins with about 10 other campers of their age and gender along with at least two counselors. Campers spend their days in activities including swimming, boating, nature lessons, outdoor skills, archery, team sports, arts and crafts, fishing, camping and more. The summer camp program emphasizes personal growth, responsibility, cooperation and social development.
