Illinois State University is a four-year public doctoral granting institution for higher education with an enrollment of about 20,000 students. Campus Recreation offers outdoor/adventure programming, cardio and weight equipment, fitness classes, intramurals, informal recreation, sport clubs, non-credit instruction including outdoor/adventure skill classes, and personal training.
The Adventure Programs consists of adventure trips, outdoor equipment rental, indoor climbing wall, challenge course, rappelling tower, and instructional programming. Illinois State University’s campus is in the twin-city community of Bloomington-Normal near the geographic center of the state, 137 miles southwest of Chicago and 164 miles northeast of St. Louis. Interstate highways 74, 55, and 39, U.S. Route 150, and Illinois Route 9 intersect in Bloomington-Normal, creating a transportation hub. Bloomington-Normal have a combined population of over 100,000.
