The Institute for Creative Education (ICE) is conceived to be an incubator for new and innovative educational programming. ICE is committed to the creation and implementation of community based, relationally focused, experiential opportunities that take place beyond traditional classroom walls. The purpose of the Institute is to provide a fertile arena for new and young educational ideas and organizations to grow and share in the synergy of associating with other like minded organizations. An ultimate goal of the ICE is to guide programs to become self supporting and autonomous while still enjoying the marketing and management benefits the Institute. ICE hopes to be an organizational and funding umbrella for innovative educational ideas. The Institute will structure itself based on the spirit of successful for-profit incubators. Not for Profits have always been at the forefront of improving the human condition, and yet traditionally they have lagged behind the larger business community in the fiscal discipline and the creativity that comes from the crucible of the marketplace. In this era of intense entrepreneurship, economic growth, high profile mergers and changing donor profiles there is no reason that not for profits should not only benefit from modern business practices, but embrace them as their own.
