Lake Valley Camp

Summer fun. Opportunities for life.

Imagine the moments that can change a child during the course of a single summer at camp. The lasting benefits of sunshine and swimming. Nature walks and campfires. Caring adults and new friends. Challenges and outdoor adventures that inspire lifelong learning and leadership.

Now imagine the difference it would make over a lifetime, if that child returned summer after summer. Picture a camp where counselors nurture each child, reach out to every parent and offer the promise of continued guidance and support through high school graduation.

Lake Valley Camp?s structured day and resident programs help promising youth to reach their potential and make positive life choices. Students may attend for up to 10 summers; older participants are eventually trained to work as counselors themselves.

Our campers:
-Are referred to us through schools and community agencies.
-Demonstrate leadership potential.
-Qualify for the National School Lunch Program.
-Attend camp free of charge.

Our core values:
-Accountability: Learning the consequences their actions have on one another helps our campers to develop positive decision-making skills.
-Independence: Navigating a new environment gives campers the tools they need to be self-directed in academics and in life.
-Confidence: Taking risks and developing new skills instills in every camper the belief that they can overcome obstacles.
-Respect: Sharing responsibility for the community teaches campers to treat themselves and one another with care.

Our Programs:
-Day Camp: Located in Milwaukee, campers aged 7-8 years old will use art, games, and field trips to learn about the world around them.
-Resident Camp: Located in Boscobel Wisconsin on 650 acres of beautifully forested hills, campers ages 9-14 spend 2-week sessions participating in activities including horseback riding, swimming, boating, and camping.
-Leadership Training Program: Teens ages 15-16 participate in an exciting 2-week wilderness expedition followed by a 2-week service learning session at our resident camp.
